In scale and scope the 2017 IBM Interconnect Conference in Las Vegas is impressive. It features under one roof an array of technologies, solutions, software, hardware, and services from IBM, Business Partners, and Suppliers. Although InterConnect has evolved in focus and no longer has the same dedicated track for Change and Configuration Management, ClearCase and ClearQuest customers have continued to join the event particularly for the IBM InnerCircle portion of the week.
This event gives customers an opportunity to exchange usage models, discuss challenges they have and give input on what priorities they think we should have for extending the functional capabilities and innovating ClearCase and ClearQuest. Both of these products have a proud tradition of innovations, and this year we recognized the 25th Anniversary of the ClearCase product. The picture below shows Peter Hack, ClearCase Lead Architect, presenting to clients the innovations that are on our roadmap.
The InnerCircle event is an important event, not just for sharing our direction, but in getting feedback where they think our priorities should be and engaging with the community of users on best practices and overcoming deployment and usage challenges. On April 13th, we will continue that discussion with a web conference that shares the ClearCase and ClearQuest roadmap with the broad user community.
Invitations will be distributed this week and if you would may send a request for invitation to the following email address email@example.com.
In addition to InnerCircle several client presentations were given that described how ClearCase and ClearQuest participate in a DevOps solution for them. Summet Kohli, HCL, presented on details of the ClearCase and Cadence Virtuoso integration and how clients obtain unique value from it. Many clients met with us for one on one meetings to discuss the IBM/HCL Strategic partnership and how this will benefit them with fresh investment in both products. Our last presentation of the conference was open to all conference participants and described what new capabilities were introduced in 2016 and a high level summary of our direction.
Going forward we are considering a change of venue and timing for the InnerCircle event to expand participation. We will discuss that as part of the web conference on the 13th but welcome your input on that subject in this blog.
