HCL Technologies and IBM recently entered into a strategic IP partnership, designed to grow and invest in several products including Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest. The partnership was announced in late 2016. HCL is now responsible for ongoing product development and support, and has plans for significant product investment to deliver new features and functionality.
For customers, the partnership means new energy and investment in the products, and a renewed technical vitality in fresh features and functionality in order to meet long-term customer needs. HCL is working to accelerate delivery of the product roadmap, and will be presenting a refreshed roadmap at IBM’s InterConnect conference March 19-23.
The product teams are working to revitalize the technical community around the products and want to engage closely with customers. HCL has initiated a new Client Advocate Program designed to provide a better connection between users and product experts in order to help customers get the greatest value out of the products and allow them to provide more feedback to the ongoing development process.
The partnership will not change any critical paths customers are accustomed to; the same development and support teams are still working on the products and will continue to support customers. The teams have transitioned to HCL and may have a new email address, but the same individuals remain in place and new resources are being added to meet the requirements of new and accelerated product development.
Customer feedback and input is highly valued; please reach out if you are interested in further details on the roadmap, would like to have an advocate assigned to your organization or wish to discuss your own team’s usage and requirements.
