This document will assist you with initial steps of installing Rational IBM ClearQuest. In this document you would see we have installed Rational IBM ClearQuest 9.0.0.4 however it holds good for any IBM ClearQuest 9.0.x.x or 9.0.x versions. The document also shows steps to install the WebSphere Application (WAS) version 8.5.5.10, the steps remains the same for any 8.5.5.x version

We are excited about the upcoming Think! conference and look forward to meeting you at the conference. This year we will be running separate InnerCircle sessions for IBM ClearCase and IBM ClearQuest on Monday, March 19 from 8am to 3:30pm. During these sessions our focus will be on the long-term strategy and upcoming delivery of new features for both products. We will have several members of each development team in attendance with whom you will be able to discuss your experiences and challenges.
![]() In January, we announced a beta for our DevOps Dashboard. Today, we are pleased to announce the availability of our second beta. If you have already registered for the beta, you should have received an email with a link to download beta 2. If you haven’t yet registered, what are you waiting for? No really, we want to know! The ClearTeam Explorer (CTE) plugin for Eclipse allows developers to work in their Eclipse environment within a IBM ClearCase (CC) controlled filesystem. In this discussion, I will assume that the IBM ClearCase environment is one that has been set up with IBM ClearCase UCM project and components by your CC administrator. Also under assumption is that the development tool is Eclipse with the ClearTeam Explorer IDE plugins installed.
Developing software can be complicated. As a developer, I need to track deliverables, work items, sprints, customer commitments, build results, and test runs. I use a variety of tools to get my work done, so that means I need to switch into different applications to get what I need. How can I get all the information I need into one place so I can get work more efficiently?
This blog has been produced to show how to install Oracle 12c then how to create and configure an Oracle database for use with IBM ClearQuest.
Note: This has been written assuming that the reader does not need to be guided through the default install process. The ClearTeam Explorer (CTE) plugin for Eclipse allows developers to work in a ClearCase (CC) controlled environment. ClearCase affords an activity-based way of tracking changes in a code base that allows the user to keep track of their work via activity-managed change sets. The ClearTeam Explorer, when installed as a plugin to the Eclipse workbench, allows you to keep your activities organized when you are using ClearCase UCM. We will assume that the ClearCase environment is one that has been set up with ClearCase UCM project and components by your CC admin. Also under assumption is that the development tool is Eclipse with the ClearTeam Explorer IDE plugins installed. The scope of this discussion is to describe one or two ways you can join projects so that you can start contributing! The ClearTeam Explorer plugin for Eclipse allows developers to work in a ClearCase controlled environment. ClearCase/UCM affords an activity-based way of tracking changes in a code base that allows you to keep track of work. Each artifact version created is added to the current activity change set. The ClearTeam Explorer offers a few ways to visualize your activities with their change sets. These visualizations are a very useful aid in keeping work organized.
This blog has been produced to show how to install IBM DB2 v10.5 and IBM Data Studio then how to create and configure a DB2 database for use with IBM ClearQuest.
Note: This has been written assuming that the reader does not need to be guided through the default install process. In my previous blog post, I presented a simple Perl application that addressed the tedious and difficult task one encounters when importing data into ClearQuest; that is, determining how to define the data types of fields within a ClearQuest record. If the data types are defined incorrectly, the import of data will fail because of a type mismatch and you will need to modify your ClearQuest schema to correct the issue.
