ClearCase can run successfully in the AWS Cloud. AWS provides virtual machines and other services that can be used to run ClearCase servers and clients. AWS EC2 instances support Windows and Linux OS versions that ClearCase also supports so a complete ClearCase installation using those OS versions can be setup in AWS. This paper discusses various options for configuring a set of AWS virtual machines so that ClearCase will perform well. In general, all the ClearCase recommendations for client and server sizing (for CPUs, memory, disk, network latency, etc.) also apply to AWS EC2 instances. AWS documentation and tools should be consulted when setting up ClearCase in AWS in order to meet those recommendations, determine costs, etc. Read the full overview, capabilities, and considerations that involve AWS by clicking on the link below. We would like to hear your thoughts about deploying ClearCase in a cloud environment. Please feel free to contact Howie Bernstein. Howie Bernstein
